Our pension is settled in the center of the village. It is only few meters distant from the harbor.
Porat is a small fisherman's village settled on the northwestern side of the island Krk (near Malinska). The sea has been feeding us and giving us life for centuries. This wealth of the sea has connected us also with our guests. We provide you with a safe place for your ship in our port, with arranged beaches and a rich underwater. This is a picturesque quiet village. Hard working people will nourish you with homemade food. We catch our fish, we grow vegetables in our gardens, we make our own vine and olive oil...
Most of our rooms and apartments have a view to the sea. We offer to you accommodation in apartments of different sizes and in rooms. You’ll have an exit to a balcony or a terrace, air condition, TV, satellite receiver and an ensured parking space. If you are coming by plane we offer you a free lift from the Rijeka airport to our home and back.
All our rooms and apartments are nicely furnitured and often renewed. We offer you a abundant and varied breakfast.
Our village was a harbor back in the times when Venice used to rule our island. The name Porat itself comes from the italic word porto which means harbor. About fifteen years ago we have started building a larger harbor because we wanted our guests to have a secure berth. We still work to make the services in our port better. Water and current is provided for your ships. You can also leave your ship on dry dock through the winter. We can reserve a place for your boat in the harbor.
About 200 meters from the harbor there is a public beach. The shore is on that part rocky but there are several shores composed of sand and small round stones where you and your kids can feel safer. A part of the beach is all day in sun while the other part is under the pine trees which will provide you shadow and a breath of freshness in the middle of the hot sunny day.
If you prefer solitude you can walk or drive with your boat to the untouched little bays and to the quiet lawns settled just by the sea. Each of those bays has its charm and you will soon fall in love in one of them.
Last few years we've been ordering long walking paths. The paths are well marked. It is possible to get a brochure with the map of a ll the walking paths. The paths mostly lead through old oak tree forests and among olive tree fields or they simply follow the coast. It is especially nice to walk through the woods when you can smell the cyclamens and the violets and when you can harvest asparagus and mushrooms.
We are into this business for more than thirty years and we always do our best to make our guests feel good.
