Splitska is a village and small harbour on the northern coast of the island Brač, around 5 km away from Supetar. Chief occupations are farming, wine production, olive growing and tourism. The coves Zastup and Splitska offer fine beaches and forests of pine. Splitska lies on regional road running along the island. Smaller vessels can anchor in the cove with a beautiful beach and forest of pine.
The settlement developed in the 16th century, after the foundation in the 13th century when the pirates from Omis destroyed it. The church consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Stomorna was built on the foundations of an older church from 1228. The altar pale of the Virgin with Saints has painted Leadro Bassano, a renaissance painter from Venice in 1577. The court of the family Cerinic was built in 1577.
The settlement emerged in 16 century as the family Cerinić-Cerineo from the neighbouring village of Škrip built citadel in the cove in 1557.Situated at the end of a cove on the northern coast of Brač, beetween Supetar and Postira, Splitska represents an ideal resort for those who prefer a peacful holiday.
